The third Friday of September is the usual observance of “National
POW/MIA Recognition Day”. Foxborough’s first observance of the day was
held in 2011.
This year, there will be a 24-hour vigil on the common beginning at
4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2013. Plans are underway for Rolling Thunder and American Legion Riders to kick-off Saturday’s 45 minute 4:00 p.m. ceremony by circling the Foxborough Common in tribute to all POW*MIA’s. The ceremony is scheduled to include some elected and appointed officials, a keynote speaker, and more.
