Like Tarot Readings, Massage, Crystal Healing, snakes, Animal Card Readings, Reiki, or Belly Dancing? Come out to the "The Feminine Phoenix: Women Of Strength & Empowerment" – The Shimmy Sisters' *Belly Dancers Without Borders* 4th Annual Gala Fundraiser For New Hope on Saturday, November 12, 2011.
During the afternoon, there will be Tarot Readings by Neylan; Reiki by Sumora, Neylan, and Harlene Simmons; Animal Card Readings by Zehara Nechash; Crystal Healing by Neylan; pictures with Zehara Nechash's snakes; and Massage by Stimson at the Ezekiel Bates Masonic Lodge at 71 North Main Street/Route 152, in Attleboro, Mass. LaReina will lead the two-hour workshop “Return to the Sacred Source: Soothing the Soul with Veil Work”.
Following the afternoon events will be the Gala Show featuring more than seventeen belly dancers portraying strong women through the ages: Women Of Myth, Women Of History, and Women Of Today! There will be raffles and an intermission with light refreshments during the evening show which starts at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets to the evening show are: $15 (or $10 with Donation of a Personal Toiletry Item to be donated directly to New Hope - which works to end domestic and sexual violence by helping people live safer lives), include refreshments, and will be available at the door. "The Feminine Phoenix: Women Of Strength & Empowerment" – The Shimmy Sisters' Fundraiser For New Hope The Shimmy Sisters *Belly Dancers Without Borders* 4th Annual Gala Fundraiser Show will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Ezekiel Bates Masonic Lodge (71 North Main Street/Route 152, Attleboro, Mass.). This year's day long event will benefit New Hope – which works to end domestic and sexual violence by helping people live safer lives - in the Attleboro, Mass. area. During the afternoon, there will be vendors, Tarot, Massage, Reiki, Crystal Healing, a workshop, and more. Following the afternoon events will be the Gala show featuring belly dancers portraying strong women through the ages: Women Of Myth, Women Of History, and Women Of Today! There will be raffles and an intermission with light refreshments during the evening show. Tickets to the show are: $15 (or $10 with Donation of a Personal Toiletry Item to be donated directly to New Hope), include refreshments, and will be available at the door. Dancers scheduled to perform are: Creattuck Tribal, Zehara Nachash, Anya Ali, Amira Christine, Maatkare, Goddess Delight, Karimah, Neylan, Alankara, Morgana, Thalia, Manuela, Anam Cara, Anechka, Nafeesa, Belly Dance Collective, Three Strong Women, and Ioke. "Each year, we choose a community group or cause to raise funds for and New Hope is this year's beneficiary. New Hope offers many services in our area including shelters, counseling programs, and intervention," says Sumora, The Shimmy Sisters' group coordinator. She adds, "the group members voted for a theme and each dancer and troupe chose which Women Of Strength they will be portraying. Characters on the line-up include women from America, Italy, France, Greece, Germany, Ireland, and other countries. All of these wonderful dancers are donating their time and talents to this great cause. The afternoon will be filled with fun events and there will be good music and fantastic dancers at the evening's Gala Fundraiser!" Throughout the afternoon, please stop in for the other fund-raising activities. Designs by J will be selling belly dancing clothing and accessories beginning at 2:00 p.m. There will also be Tarot Readings by Neylan; Reiki by Sumora, Neylan, and Harlene Simmons; Animal Card Readings by Zehara Nechash; Crystal Healing by Neylan; and Massage by Stimson. Zehara Nechash will also be bringing some her of her beautiful snakes during the afternoon events. If you would like your picture taken with you holding one of the snakes, please bring your own camera and a $5 donation for New Hope. Scheduled performers are: Morgana Mirage, Liorah, Evantia, Asharah, Anechka, Troupe Sultan, Ioke, Anam Cara, Alizah Afet, Dorothea, Loreli, Belly Dance Collective, Hyetti, Neylan, and the incomparable Za-Beth! Raffles include: Two DVDs Improvisational Toolkit Vols. 1 & 2 by Nadira Jamal; Crocheted Ribbon Yarn Shawl by Aneckha; Pewter Flower Bracelet; a 4 ft. Freestanding Scarecrow; Isis Wings from Designs by J; , Handmade Tribal Dance Belt by Loreli; 3 Yd. Veil; 1 hour lesson/coaching session with Hyetti; The Classic Carbaret Bellydance Workout by Tanna Valentine; a Reiki Gift Certificate; and a Frisky Witch Sampler Basket by Neylan. Our friend has suffered from chronic passage of kidney stones for 25 years that required hospitalization and lithotripsy at times, and ongoing long term medication to control the two to three or more times per year passing of these stones. Unfortunately, the prolonged use of kidney stone medication contributed to the development of end stage liver disease. He is currently on the United Network for Organ Sharing's (UNOS) active recipient list awaiting a liver for transplantation. The expenses associated with the operation and recovery are only partially covered by insurance or are not covered at all. All funds raised from the event will be donated to his family. The 7th Annual Belly Dance Karavan will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Foxborough Universalist Church, UUA, 6 Bird Street, Foxborough, Mass. Located On The Common in downtown Foxborough, it's an easy venue to find and get to.
